As I walk down a familiar concrete path my boots scuffing through a dense blanket of crispy leaves, I reflect on my trust of what is hidden from my view. Although I still feel some trepidation about the possible concealed dangers, a history of being held by this path time and time again permits me to place my feet heavily on the unseen foundation beneath this debris.
It reminded me of the rest that is only found when walking with our Creator. In our firmest foundation there are no potholes or loose gravel, no stray rocks purposed to trip us up. The leaves of life though beautiful, can be messy. At times they can completely obscure our view. They can demand negotiation and skillful maneuvering. What a gift we have that we sink our feet into the mess with boldness, knowing our Faithful Foundation will always hold us.
